Established following a divestment from Kongsberg Maritime, Neuver Maritime stands as an independent entity, continuing a legacy that dates back to the 1950s.
Our journey began in the 1950s with the pioneering work of Tenfjord Steering Gears and Frydenbø Industri, two companies that developed in parallel, each advancing steering gear technology and setting new standards for manoeuvrability and reliability. In the years that followed, Hareid Rudders emerged as a specialist in rudder solutions, further strengthening the capabilities of Norwegian maritime engineering.
In the 1980s, these advancements were brought together under Ulstein, which integrated the expertise of Tenfjord and Frydenbø into a broader maritime equipment portfolio. The acquisition by Rolls-Royce Commercial Marine in 1999 and the subsequent transition to Kongsberg Maritime in 2019 ensured that our trusted solutions continued to evolve, maintaining their reputation for safety and performance.
Now, in 2025, a new era begins. With Norvestor’s acquisition of Kongsberg Maritime’s steering gear and rudder business, Neuver Maritime emerges—not as a “new company,” but as a continuation of everything that has made our solutions trusted by shipowners worldwide. While our name has changed, our expertise, quality, and commitment remain the same. At Neuver Maritime, we ensure safe and efficient manoeuvring at sea.
